It’s so easy to get swept away by the stories you tell yourself – the negative thoughts.
You overthink. You play out scenarios.
You think about what you’ll say in the imaginary argument you’ve started in your brain.
You become engrossed in fantasies and how they will play out.
You’re all triggered up and the discussion still is in your mind.
Negative thoughts can easily seep in.
Your first thought isn’t your fault. And you have a chance to stop your unhelpful thoughts before they spin out of control.
My work helps people notice these unhelpful patterns.
The next time you are having an imaginary argument with someone about a hypothetical situation, simply say to yourself, thanks for sharing.
Don’t shame yourself or make yourself wrong. That’s not helpful either.
As Dan Millman says, you don’t have to control your thoughts, you just don’t want them to control you. I can show you how.
Mindset shifts. Careers advance. Life opens up. It’s all possible.
