One of the things my clients come to me for support with is fixing workplace conflict.
The conflict is making them unsatisfied at their very good job.
Or there’s a conflict with a colleague or supervisor. My clients often think they have to find a new job.
First they search the job boards. Then they update their resume.
They look for solutions outside of themselves.
That’s not where they are going to find the answers.
Sometimes, it is best to find another role.
But finding another role without learning and understanding how to process the feelings of workplace conflict and discomfort won’t change anything.
It is a temporary solution.
It is like putting an octopus to bed. There is always going to be something else popping up that needs to be addressed.
If we don’t learn how to work within the discomfort of conflict and dissatisfaction, we miss the curriculum.
How do I know it’s the curriculum? It’s here. Learn before you jump ship.
Get curious about your thoughts and why you think the way you do.
Then when the same characters show up in different clothing, you can say with confidence, I got this.
You don’t have to love it, but you don’t have to leave either.
When we start to investigate the connection between our thoughts, feelings, and actions, we realize that we can change how we feel by changing our thoughts.
It’s not always easy, and it’s probably not overnight. But curiosity and practice can deliver a whole new life without changing your circumstance.
Then the worst thing that can happen to you today is a feeling 🙂
