When we are really focused on what we believe is possible sometimes we don’t see how we are getting into our own way.

This week I interview Elena Sonnino, a cancer survivor, yoga instructor and author. In this episode we discuss:

  • What to do when things don’t go as planned
  • How to manage your brain when you get what you want but you no longer want it
  • 3 pattern disruptors that you can use to boost your mindset, soothe the Sunday Scaries, and tap into the confidence needed before the big job interview

With many offices opening back with hybrid or full time I am noticing themes around
1) Communication and collaboration – how are we re-acculturating after 2 years of being apart?
2) who am I now? I’m different today than I was 2 years ago. What new parts of me do I want to bring forth?
3) what new behaviors do I need to adapt or change as this post-pandemic mindset begins to take shape.

Hey everyone welcome back to the career refresh podcast.

Today’s conversation is a continuation of the interviews with my friends series. These are conversations with my friends, the people that are making an impact in their line of work and I want to share these experts with you.

Today’s guest is my friend Elena Sonnino, author, life coach, yoga teacher, and speaker. Her recent book Inhabit your joy was the spark of today’s conversation.

Hey Elena, Welcome. Would you like to introduce yourself?

I know you are a cancer survivor. While my listeners may not have had that experience yours is a story of resilience. Tell us about your journey.

I found your book and approach to noticing nudges and finding joy instrumental in helping in all stages of building a career strategy…driving to purpose, creating well-being, and thinking in possibility.

What inspired you to write this book?

What are nudges?

Can you give us an example of a nudge that would help someone increase their confidence?

A nudge to work through the Sunday scaries?

A nudge for preparing your mindset as you prep for a job interview?

A Nudge to flip your mindset when you are unmotivated?

Which nudge do you use the most?
